Manhattan, NY

Traveling south down the Hudson River near the southeast end of Manhattan we approached Newport Marina in Jersey City. Quite a nice marina run by a couple from Rhode Island. Met Kate and Paul at the Westin Hotel, where we had booked rooms, and headed out on a watertaxi to a Yankee's and Red Sox game. The consierge at the hotel directed us to the wrong wharf to catch the water taxi, missed the taxi, could not get tickets to the game for less than $300, decided to blow the game off so we spent the afternoon in Hard Rock Cafe air conditioned bar that served food and a thousand TV's and we could hear the roar from the stadium.


Spent the late evening at Michael Anthony's, the marina bar. Little did I know that Paul foraged the streets of Jersey City at 3:00 AM for a steak and cheese sandwich. A picture taken from our boat of the Empire State building below.
